Every year the genius Tetsuya Komuro (小室哲哉) must enlighten us with some wonderful release, and this year he doesn’t disappoint, and delivers as he always does. This time, we have a release of his latest solo album since 2014, where we had the wonderful album “EDM Tokyo” where he expressed his new direction toward completely electronic music. Now we expect a similar direction from what we’ve heard recently, the new release is called “Jobs #1” I am hoping this implies that there will be more volumes of this at some point, since this is the first one! Before getting into the details, let’s watch the promotional video:
In the video we can listen to some samples of the songs, one of the featured songs in the video is “RUN” this is a collaboration with tofubeats, who is a very famous DJ in Japan and Sayaka Kanda, who is the daughter of the 80’s Jpop Diva Seiko Matsuda, this song was used as the promotional song for the Horse Racing event in Japan. The album also contains some other interesting collaborations with artists such as the super producer Tsunku♂ and May J who is a Japanese/Irish R&B singer, you can notice this by her great English in their song “Have Dreams!“. The album will also contain many instrumental pieces and theme songs made for specific purposes, such the J Sports theme “a new lease on life” which has been available in iTunes since 2016, and it contains strong EDM vibes.
The Limited Edition will include a Bonus DVD with special interviews with Tetsuya Komuro and probably some concert footage and promotional videos, and of course we will have a photobook featuring 400 pictures! we are expecting to see pictures of Komuro’s trips to London and probably from his Piano tours around Asia too.
Unfortunately the release was originally scheduled for March 1, however due to delays announced by Avex Records, the release was postponed until March 15, so we still have time to place our pre-orders at CD Japan:
