Everyday I feel prouder of Angelo being my favorite Jrock band and today they show us again why they are the absolute best. Today August 2nd and just a few hours ago, the last concert of their acoustic tour (NEOPHASE III -the quantumd method-) happened in the Nagoya city’s Diamond Hall venue, once again with a limited audience of 70 attendees and with the option of online broadcast through the wonderful Zaiko events platform.
As Kirito mentioned during the MCs of this concert, the NEOPHASE tour was created thinking of a new beginning in these difficult times, and that’s exactly how it felt like to experience these songs again in the beautiful acoustic arrangement.
We heard very important announcements from Kirito:
- New album scheduled for November 11, 2020; the title has not been decided yet.
- The “Angel’s day” concert marking their 14th anniversary titled “THE GROUND OF REUNION”, will be held in October 4th in the Big Hall of Sonic City , this venue is theater style and it can hold 2505 attendees, however the live will be limited to 1200; and there will be a Zaiko online option, for more information check the Angelo Zaiko concert page
- A new Bluray and DVD will be released in October 28th showcasing the NEOPHASE III -the quantum method- performances, and it will be “build to order” meaning that orders will be accepted until October 3rd, and those will be the only printed copies; this is a method that has been used by Angelo since quite some time now.

Once again we have a beautiful stage with the lights changing colors according the mood of each song, for example during ACTIVATE RESONATE, we see the lights turning red, remembering us the colors of the RESONANCE album cover and blue during songs like 事象の地平線 remembering us the colors of RETINA album.
Kirito was wearing a white shirt and a black vest which looked great on him, showing great contrast; Kohta continues with his formal style wearing suits, this time it was a black and white strip suit and a white shirt inside; Takeo, Giru and Karyu were wearing black loose shirts; everyone was shinning.
Comparing to the previous concerts, there was only one new song in the setlist, and it was 胎動 (Taidou) from HETERODOX album, and it was perfect for the mood of this deep concert, I was surprised it had not been performed in the previous concerts since this is always a ballad that Angelo likes to perform in their concerts since it was released back in 2018.
Kirito said beautiful words again, such as the fact that he can’t promise we will have a pretty future, however he can promise that Angelo will continue to be there transmitting feelings to their fans, and that they will continue challenging themselves to create new things regardless of the circumstances affecting Japan and the whole world; this was reinforced when he announced the new album, he said they will create a new world again in this album and that he hopes we will listen to it.
One of the biggest highlights in this concert was CRUELWORLD, it was performed with more passion than in the previous song, as if Kirito really feels the lyrics of this song is what we are living right now in every aspect; so he sings from the heart in a very thoughtful way, and even Karyu accompanies Kirito with one of his best chorus harmonies, creating a beautiful balance between both of their voices.
Another great moment was just before performing the last song, Kirito says he chose an important song to finish the Neophase tour, and this song is “a new story“, I agree with Kirito that this is the best song to close the concert with a very strong message that Angelo is not going anywhere, regardless of pandemics and any disasters we may have, they will always find a way to continue showing us their talent and great music, and I completely look forward to it!
