access new single release “Knock beautiful smile”

After a recent single release in November, access is back with another single release which is part of their 25th anniversary celebration that will also include an album release in September. This time the name of the song is “Knock beautiful smile” and it will be released in May 24th and will come in 3 editions, a limited version featuring a Bonus DVD and a photo booklet, and the other 2 regular editions will include variations in the coupling songs.

I noticed that access is releasing this single under Sony Music, so maybe this means the band will move to the major label, this is something we should look out for, because it means more opportunities for a Bluray release at some point.

About the song itself and the promotion video, it starts with beautiful distortion sounds, probably made with the TB-3 bass machine, and then we have a very melodic entry with Takami’s soft voice and slow electronic piano, then transforming in a very progressive techno beat during the main chorus that will make you completely addicted.. in the video, we can see a beautiful woman dancing in the city at night and many shots of Daisuke Asakura and Hiroyuki Takami wearing white clothes, in one of these shots, we can see them smiling! maybe this is the knock beautiful smile, or perhaps a reference to Asakura’s fanclub which is also called “Smile“? then by the end of the promo edit, we can hear the beginning of the piano solo! but it unfortunately ends there, so, we will need to buy the single in order to listen to the entire song. if you are located outside of Japan, you might need to use some tweaks to be able to watch this video, if not, you can also wait for the arrival of your order of the Limited edition of the single that comes with a DVD that will contain the entire promotional music video for everyone’s enjoyment.

The jacket designs are very artistic as well, the 3 covers of the booklet definitely captures the mood of the song, the Limited edition looks like they are traveling in some futuristic ship with a mysterious orange sky which is also included in the Regular edition B cover. The Regular edition A cover looks like a circuit design behind them, definitely creative.
